This Board functions to protect and promote the public health, safety, and general welfare of the City, its residents and business community on matters concerning and affecting the physical design and development. It ensures high quality design standards in buildings and projects so as to conserve the value, encourage the most appropriate use of land, and maintain the aesthetic value of the community.

1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 7:00 p.m., City Hall Council Chambers. Chapter 2.78 of the Monterey Park Municipal Code. Five member board. City residency is not required; however, it is recommended that members have a background as an architect, planner, landscape architect or civil engineer.
