Under the initiative adopted by the voters of Monterey Park in 1948, the City Manager serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the City under the direction of the City Council, and also serves as the Executive Director of the Community Redevelopment Agency. In this capacity, the City Manager provides overall direction and coordination of City operations and community redevelopment projects; continual monitoring and evaluation of services and programming to ensure their relevance with community needs; oversees an aggressive program of resource development that results in measurable increases in the productivity of City operations each year, procurement of available grant funds to achieve special projects, and new commercial and industrial development that expands the economic base of the City.

  Recognizing property owners for excellent property maintenance efforts
• Military Recognition Program
  Honoring our local military members serving around the world
• Transportation Programs
  Operation of the Spirit Bus system and information on local and regional transportation services, programs, and projects
