The City Attorney acts as the City’s general legal counsel. In this capacity, the City Attorney advises the City Council and staff on all legal matters relating to the operation of the municipal government, and is responsible for the preparation of various resolutions, ordinances, and agreements. The general legal counsel services of the City Attorney are provided via contract with a legal private firm of Jenkins and Hogin.
In addition to general legal services, legal costs pertaining to litigation and labor relations consultation as administered by the Human Resources and Risk Management Department in conjunction with other private law firms are budgeted in this program.
